David Shallcross Was born in Atherton, Lancashire, England. He was educated at St Georges Infant and Junior Schools then Hesketh Fletcher Senior School, upon leaving he entered into an indentured apprenticeship with Atherton Urban District Council in 1962-68, he attended classes at Leigh and Wigan Colleges and attained Union of Lancashire and Cheshire Institute Certificates in Painter-Decorators-Sign writers work, City and Guilds of London Institute first class cert, in Painters and Decorators work City and Guilds of London Institute, Advanced Craft Cert with Credit in Painters and Decorators work. He is now Managing Director of Leigh Painting Company Limited. Chairman of Leigh Ornithological Society, Chairman of Chowbent Unitarian Chapel Trustees and Editor of www.shallcross-ancestry.org.uk
