[edit] Portsmouth Goals

Nugent has scored twice for Portsmouth, both in the Carling Cup. It even says about his first goal in the Portsmouth section. Yet someone keeps removing these goals from his tally on the right. Why? Thom32 —Preceding comment was added at 19:06, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources needed

Apart from the first paragraph, this whole article seems to consist entirely of speculation. The only notable things are:

  • Everton fan
  • "not good enough" for Liverpool
  • Handed in transfer request
  • makes no secret of the fact he'd like to play for the Toffees some day

The rest is just speculation or rumour. If there are any good sources containing such (or other useful) info, it would be good to cite them. I've had a brief check and couldn't find any, except the Everton fan link, which also provides evidence of speculation regarding his Jan '06 move to Everton. It doesn't mention his desire to join EFC some day.  sʟυмɢυм • т  c  23:19, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] first england international from football league since michael gray?

"Should he play, he will become the first England international from outside the top-flight to play for England since Michael Gray of Sunderland AFC in 1999. He is already the first Preston North End player in an England squad since Tom Finney in 1959."

I thought david james played for england while he was in the championship with west ham? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.166.244.81 (talk • contribs)

He did.  Sʟυмgυм • т  c  21:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah he did, I thought Merson did as well ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.6.154.150 (talkcontribs)

No, Merson definitely did not while playing for Portsmouth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.189.17.54 (talk • contribs)

Merson did, although it was when he was at Boro, in 1997-98, before Gray. slυмgυм [ ←→ ] 20:57, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] International career

"Although he opted to represent England, Nugent was also eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland."

Probably because one of his grandparents is Irish. CDowns 23:28, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
