Talk:Dave Navarro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] This reads like a fan bio
Seriously, it's almost sickening reading this page. Particularly the Equipment section, which includes such phrases as "standard shredding guitars" (<- there is no "standard" group of shredding guitars). Can someone who isn't in love with Dave Navarro do a re-write? 75.69.110.227 02:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re-writing is needed
Almost every sentence in some sections of the article begin with "Navarro". "Navarro this. Navarro that.". Can some one please rewrite? 200.174.46.197
[edit] Early life
Who wrote this, a 9 year old? Worst structuring ever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.119.26 (talk) 01:31, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] April Navarro
Is Dave Navarro related to April Navarro ("Bubblez") from VH1's Flavor of Love (Season 1)? I saw a picture of them arm in arm on IMDB.
[edit] Autobiographer
"Navarro is also in the midst of working on a drama programme involving the police with his autobiographer, Neil Strauss."
Nice one.
[edit] Rewrite
I deleted the 'Nine Inch Nails' album from his discography. If anything he only guested on that album, it was not one in which he was a full member of the band. If someone wants to create a separate discography for guestwork feel free, but you shouldn't include them on his real discograpy.
[edit] Pic
How about a picture.
[edit] Kiedis comment
Umm could we have some sources stating that Anthony Kiedis sent his own poo to D
A: No. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.119.26 (talk) 01:32, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mariah Carey's Bringin' on the Heartbreak
According to Bringin' on the Heartbreak, Dave played guitar on Mariah Carey's cover of Def Leppard's Bringin' on the Heartbreak. Shouldn't that be mentioned somewhere in his discography?
[edit] Autobiography & Solo Album
His memoir Don't Try This At Home as well as details about his solo release Trust No One should also be mentioned within the text.
[edit] Drug Addiction
Navarro's extensive battles with alcohol and heroin are glaring omissions from this bio.
[edit] LGBT
I reverted the LGBT category. Dave has said "I've come to realize through my experimentation over the years that I'm not gay, nor am I bisexual". Source: Len Righi, "Channeling Dave Navarro", Morning Call (Allentown, Pennsylvania), May 25, 2006, P. E29. -- JHunterJ 15:19, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose I won't make an edit... but... if you've "experimented" over the years with men, and you have found that you prefer women... guess what? You're bisexual. Iamvered 19:54, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes it's true, anytime you lose your virginity, there's not much you can do about it. The same goes with when a man "expiriments" with another man or when a woman "experiments" with another woman. I believe it makes no sense that Dave claims he's heterosexual after he "expirimented" with some guys as it is clear that he officially is bisexual the moment he has a relationship with another male and then suddenly decides to make out with women instead. If he were to be a complete heterosexual as he claims, then he would not have made love to a male first before dating Carmen. When you look at it, it's almost like disgraced reverend Ted Haggard when he made love to gay hooker Mike Jones before it all came out in the open, and then after going through his supposed "treatment" he no claims he's completely heterosexual. It just does'nt make sense whatsoever.

[edit] Piercings and Tattoos
Do these have any place here, maybe as trivia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.12.143.197 (talk • contribs) 04:40, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Probably not; see WP:TRIVIA#Practical steps suggestion. -- JHunterJ 10:30, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
in the discography it's written that he was with red hot chilli pepers when they recorded By the way and Stadium arcadium which isn't right because he left the band before. please fix it.
[edit] Should we mention the Playboy Mansion incident?
You know, the time he went into the orgy room, pulled out a syringe filled with blood, and squirted it all over the girls? Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. Also, didn't somebody find kiddie porn on his computer one time?--216.107.193.69 02:53, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] John Frusciante
Hope it's OK to ask a question here, I thought John Frusciante took Dave's place in the R.H.C.P but it says "Navarro was asked to join the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993 after the departure of John Frusciante." Please help a new fan out. Thanks INXS-Girl 17:13, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
John was part of the RHCP since Mother's Milk, when their original guitarist, Hillel Slovak, died. John recorded two albums with RHCP, Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, and stayed with them touring for a little while, but left in 1992 when he thought the original goodness of the band was gone, and that they were too popular now. RHCP obtained many other guitarists after another one left and so on to play in place of John until they could find a permanent guitarist, and they finally found Dave where he first appeared at Woodstock '94. Dave recorded One Hot Minute with RHCP, and that was their only album together. Dave left later as the band wasn't working with Dave, and Flea later went and found John, a huge drug addict then and one who almost died at one point, and John cleaned up and got back together with the band to record Californication. You should really read the article on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as the article is greatly written with all the information you'll need. Xihix 22:38, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, I get it now. Take care INXS-Girl 11:58, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hendrix Inspiration
It says in this article that Navarro was inspired to play guitar at age twelve after hearing about the death of Jimi Hendrix. If this were true, then he would have begun playing guitar at three years old, as Hendrix died in 1970 and Navarro was born in 1967. Either this claim is completely false, or Dave only heard that Hendrix was dead nine years after the fact. Seems fairly obvious to me. 24.65.142.164 00:29, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
It would not make him 3 years old - there's no mention that he heard about it on the date of the death of Hendrix. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.119.26 (talk) 01:36, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
