Note this page says he died 2005-03-10 whilst Recent Deaths says 2005-03-11. The BBC says "Thursday night" http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4340115.stm -- SGBailey 12:37, 2005 Mar 11 (UTC)

I'll go with the BBC on that one. Updated Recent deaths accordingly. Anilocra 13:01, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Did you know that he used to deride the Pope of Rome?

Did anyone else know that he used to deride the Pope of Rome through doing skits in which he was dressed up as the Pope of Rome & seated on a sedan chair? I know that his other famous way of poking fun at the Catholic Church was to dress up as a priest. - (Aidan Work 06:12, 13 December 2005 (UTC))

I wonder about the cited toast "Goodnight, thank you, and may your god go with you". I remember it as "...may your feet go with you." Was this done only once for the effect or was this the actual form? 213.115.59.220 14:56, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

I watched him often and it was always "...and may your god go with you."

And yes he poked fun at the Pope just as he did Church of England clergy and many others. Dabbler 18:19, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dave-Allen-Show.jpg

Image:Dave-Allen-Show.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
