Davenies School

Davenies School is an independent day school for boys aged 4-13, located in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. Its current headmaster is Mr C. Watson.

The School was founded in 1941 and was supposedly an all boys boarding school but was soon changed to a day school. The school takes the 11+ examination and the Common Entrance examination at age 13.

There are 4 houses, currently named after famous English explorers (previously named after birds):

  • Cook (originally Herons) - Blue
  • Shackelton (originally Rooks) - Red
  • Scott (originally Swans) - Yellow
  • Drake (originally Gulls) - Green


The school offers a wide range of academic subjects, as well as many Extra Curricular activities that take place after school.

Davenies play three main sports during the year, as well as a variety of other sports taught through P.E. lessons.

Autumn - Rugby Lent - Football Summer - Cricket/Athletics(Rounders for Yr2)

From year 2 onwards the students are split into teams A,B,C,D(E,F) of ability and play other schools
