Dassnagar [1] is an India based business group with diversified business interests. Started in 1962 by Mr. D Sircar as a small manufacturing unit, the company grew in size and was soon building Rolling Mill Machinery and turnkey Coil Processing Lines. In 1978, Dassnagar became the first Indian company to export turnkey Coil Processing Plants at a time when Rolling Mill Process line technology was starting to come to Asia. By 1990, Dassnagar became one of the leading exporter of Coil Processing Machinery in Asia with installations in almost all steel plants in Asia. Today the business group encompasses diversified interests in Power, Textiles, Automation, Paper and Pulp. In 1996, they launched a software company Dassnagar Infosystems primarily to support their in house IT needs. The company has now grown into an offshore Software development factory with expertise in web application development. With a combined On site and Offshore model, the company comprises 27 in-house development teams, a publishing house, a distribution center, a localization team and a quality assurance department; in total, some 440 people are employed by Dassnagar Infosystems.
