Freshtone
So why was my page (Freshtone) erased I explained why it was not advertisement and I changed a lot of the context. So I don't understand why the information that I provided was deleted. I didn't even had time to supply the links for this page.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Caraguiirre (talk • contribs) 10:18, 1 March 2007
I want to work on this article, maybe I can make it a personal article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Schipol (talk • contribs) 03:59, 6 March 2007
- I created this user subpage. You can put your content there. Please check out Wikipedia:Talk page to learn how to use talk pages. Once you put your Freshtone content up we can discuss it. Darkspots 12:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
merge
I'm sorry about the deletion of the discussion but it had no merrit. you said "Merge It's the same ship. Darkspots 14:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)" and you did not even create your own paragraph you just added it to someone elses disscussion tag. yes of course the article was about the same ship thats why the merger proposal was suggested thats how things work at wikipedia if one or two articles are based on the same item in question but one has some information that the other does not then a merger is proposed. and please in the future create your own disscussion tag and leave other people's tags alone.

- Hey, that's pretty harsh, saying that my comment had no merit. In a discussion of whether or not to merge two pages, an editor saying that the subjects of the two articles are the same is a contribution; I was being concise and supportive of the merge. Regarding your anger about my posting under your header, please see the section of Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines about Layout--if someone is commenting on the same subject, an indented post underneath is a clear way to show that the two posts are about the same thing. In the same article about talk page guidelines, the situations in which it's permissible to delete other people's talk-page posts are clear, and they are limited to things like personal attacks and libel. No reasonable editor would say this post [1] was a personal attack on you. Darkspots 15:25, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
attack
OK, I see your point. As you say, no big deal with that particular page, but I'll bear it in mind. jimfbleak 11:31, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

re: Deletion of attack page note
Hi Erica, I noticed that you deleted the attack page Dan Ioppolo twice, once after I put a {{db-attack}} tag on the page. I really appreciate you dealing with this trash, but I just wanted to mention that deleting administrators should, according to policy, not quote libel from attack pages in their reasons for deletion, because it then is entered into the log. This happened during both your deletions of this article. You can check out Wikipedia:Deletion process#Speedy deletion for the official word. Thanks! Darkspots 16:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Kite-Runner edits
I see, you were removing an article I just started. A movie has been made about the book, and the book itself is one of the finest books I've ever read, so why have you removed my information (which wasn't finished yet). I was trying to see what I can do, and planning to create more articles on the characters from this book. Other bestellers with movies attached to it, also have articles on their major-characters, and this way, I believed I was doing notrhing other than good things. Randalph P. Williams 12:44, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Randalph. I created a redirect instead of deleting the article; you are free to revert me and continue to develop your article. There are different schools of thought about creating articles about the characters of a novel; a lot of editors feel that articles should only be created for characters if there is a series of multiple works, or some sort of independent notability for characters. I looked at The Kite Runner and thought that the article was a good length, by no means too long, and had plenty of information about Amir. Like I said, you can continue to develop your articles about these characters, but there are also plenty of en bloc deletions of these sorts of articles, too--you should be prepared for the possibility. People feel passionately about both ways of proceeding. Please let me know if you have any trouble reverting my redirect--the easiest way is to go to my user contributions, hit the "diff" button for my redirect, and undo the edit. Cheers, Darkspots 13:24, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Never mind it, Darkspots. I understand you completely. I shall perhaps re-create the article, or, I might not recreate it. First, I'm busy with an article on Douglas Unger. Thanks for you quick and friendly answering, by the way! Randalph P. Williams 13:27, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

- Yes. I thought that this edit was far outside the profile for a brand-new user (using popups, reverting in seconds), so I made this talk-page post to try to alert editors that the same vandal was back. That was probably unnecessary--it seems that TexasAndroid is locked and loaded for this particular problem. So I saw the sock template go on this user's account. I've added Lucille Ball to my watchlist and I'll revert again if something comes up and I happen to be the one to catch it. Let me know if there's something else I should have done. Is there any way to clear up the misunderstanding on the fraulein page? I am not a sock puppet of Kaiser or any other uer. Like I said, my edits were done in good faith because I have lived in Germany for many years. I acknowledge that the term has declined in popularity, but the article was incorrect in saying that the term is never used. That is why I made the edits. As far as any of the other editors, I do not know of their motives. I did however think it was odd that you thought that the entire debate on that page, which has been going on for 2 years, was all the work of one user. Piononno 03:35, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Regarding the sockpuppetry, let's just let that run its course. If I'm wrong, you'll be cleared when the administrator checks the database; if I'm right, one or more of your accounts will be banned.
- About the way you've edited Fräulein, you can't claim to be editing in good faith if you change what sources say. That's intellectual dishonesty. Nobody needs an official Wikipedia policy to know that that is wrong. Darkspots 18:52, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Deletion/Anthony Chidiac
Hi Darkspots, nearing end of thoughts on getting chidiac article into userspace. Can I get some fresh eyes on the article in my userspace? Apart from adding a plethora links to citable video bits to YouTube that chidiacs PR added - especially the MPEG-1 Non-SIF Samples and the TV news report(s), just feeling lost as to the "clincher" for it to be a mature enough article to migrate out of my care and into the wikikingdom. I note you are from South Carolina and would likely know about "University Triangle" - the area there where BOSE is - we have the same here in Australia too, and the main research/HQ for the world is the VDO facility (makes of most or all of the instruments in cars)! Anyway, thoughts on chidiac article in my userspace would be appreciated. T --T3Smile 15:17, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Moving Anthony Chidiac Article back into MainSpace
Dear Darkspots, I'd like you to review my currently adopted piece on Anthony Chidiac for consideration of moving into mainspace.
I believe that: 1) with the work I have done to provide factual pieces of information to support this biography, and 2) with the rumour of Chidiac being shortly announced as playing a pivotal part of the University Hill Development in Bundoora, creating worldwide attention. This article should now be moved into mainspace.
Don't forget, I also successfully picked John Brumby as being the new Premier of Victoria, Australia and noted such in other admins pages, and do have the inside track on news pertaining to major technology developments here in australia with encyclopedic notability, so based on such and the promise that I will progress this article as well as some other key players in this major announcement, I hope you find my work of a quality that meets your exacting standards. Thanking you in advance for your positivity and assistance in getting my first article in wikipedia published.--T3Smile 16:46, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Wikimania in Atlanta!
Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 06:29, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

The "Fräulein" issue.
I am the one who recommended not to use Fräulein at all on 04.Spetember 2007, even though i have different IP by now. You asked me for rescources. Are German Sources accepted? "The Duden" is recognized as the official standard book on all things 'german' since 1955. In an online Newsletter from 2002 you can read:
What you always wanted to know Frau and Fräulen when addressing someone That today it is considered fairly outdated to address a young woman as Fräulein should have reached even the most obdurate emanzipation-pococurante. When adressing a grown woman one should always choose Frau and that is independently from age and maritial status. Fräulein is only appropriate when the addressed women wants this form of addressing. Also in Cafe's and Restaurant's one should better forgo this calling. Instead of " Fräulein, would you please deliver the bill?" suffices a simple "Excuse me, ..." [2]--84.130.219.76 03:04, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, this is exactly what I was hoping someone would find, and I don't see why the Duden should not be considered a (if not the) reliable source for German-language usage. I'll put it into the article, let me know what you think, if you like. Thanks! Darkspots 18:22, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Can you suggest a better translation than "emanzipation-pococurante"? Darkspots 18:33, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- LOL I was so fed up with the wrongness of the article, so I searched until i found this. Anyway 'How to translate the german Muffel?' A Muffel is someone who is either very lazy or has a very strong dislike strong dislike on doing things, learning stuff or just a dislike of certain things. It can range from fashion or politics to no knowledge of e.g. Computers, Cars... you name it. If you have a word for that kind of behaviour or mindset in english... just apply that, it will be right.:) The best other word I found was 'grouch'. --84.130.193.165 19:53, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- I like "grouch." I think that Fräulein is much more balanced now--I really appreciate your contribution. I have no idea why this article has been the subject of so much controversy. Darkspots 01:35, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think I do. It appears to me that those in favor have a romantic memory of that word. And of course they fight the change in usage because it would maybe taint their fond memories. But that is just my 2 cents. Today i looked into my printed version of the Duden and guess what i found. In addition to the spelling of the word was a a little red box which said the following " Today it is usual also not to adress young, unmarried women as Fräulein anymore, but principally as Frau." "Heute ist es üblich, auch junge, unverheiratete Frauen nicht mehr mit Fräulein, sondern mit Frau anzureden". Now guess where I found the only other red boxes that deal with the usage?! It's 'Nigger/Negro = Neger' and 'Gypsy = Zigeuner'. Maybe i overlooked one or two, but they all have in common that it is unpolite to use those words. Oh, the Duden I have is the 23rd edition from 2004. The most current is the 24th edition. So I have to say that the Wikipedia article has still some fundamental flaws.
- Whatever the Oxford English Dictionary says is definitely wrong or severely outdated to be polite (even my 11 year old sister is addressed as Frau in every letter she gets from school or she is addressed with her first name in a non-formal way), second no schoolgirl is addressed as Fräulein anymore (unless in 1 or 2 elitist or traditional schools that might still exist, but i very much doubt that even there) especially not on a Gymnasium where pupils when addressed with the formal 'Sie' and in conclusion as 'Herr' or 'Frau' are 17-19 yrs old and therefore very much considered grown up. Ugh, another IP change. --77.6.100.36 17:46, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Your edits to Fräulein
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Fräulein appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. ReadyFreddie (talk) 19:57, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to Fräulein, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. I've struck out warnings issued by sockpuppet vandal
The next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did to Fräulein, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ReadyFreddie (talk) 03:24, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Um, you're deleting my comments from my talk page. Uncool. Here's what I said earlier:
- Putting templates on my talk page isn't going to get me blocked. For starters, I reverted you once and you templated me twice. Poor form. More to the point, you're removing reliable sources from Fräulein and ignoring what they say. Relying on reliable sources is the core philosophy of Wikipedia. I'll leave these templates up for now. Darkspots (talk) 14:16, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- And I still maintain that templating me isn't going to get me blocked. I've edited Fräulein constructively. And you've added three templates for two reversions. Darkspots (talk) 23:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the note on my talk page. Nice catch on your part. Thanks for the information. What an annoying individual that guy is! --Achim 21:43, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the note on my talk page. I added a little explanation to the main page that may help explain why the term is no longer used. Sag mal, sprichst Du überhaupt deutsch? Wenn ja, brauchen wir uns schließlich nicht auf ausländisch zu unterhalten oder? --Achim 00:41, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- I don't speak a word of German, unfortunately! I started editing Fräulein completely randomly, just patrolling recent changes. I stuck around the article because it seemed like nobody else cared enough to stop the vandal, each and every time. The whole thing is exactly what you said, what's the fuss? Strange world. Hi, thanks for your post. Will try and bear what you said in mind. Yes, the expansion of HMS Swan should have been marked as a major edit. Mjroots (talk) 12:59, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: User:Juliancolton RFA
Oh, I had no idea. I only assumed that since it was in mainspace, it was considered legit. Granted, I doubt the user would put it on the WP:RFA page (he hasn't in the past for similar occurrences), and given his inexperience I doubt his RFA would pass anytime in the near future. If a similar event ever happens in the future, I'll avoid doing anything unless the user signed the acceptance statement. --♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:34, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
