Talk:Damnation Festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I made a few changes, but this article still feels like a promo piece. Urchin 22:11, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree. I know a fair amount about the festival and can make some changes now, but a more comprehensive overhaul will require additional research. It may also be worth noting that at least one username listed on the history is also the username of a Download Forum member known to be involved in Damnation, so there may well be Conflict of Interest issues in this case. [edit] Clean-up dated 7th December 2007

General: cleaned up article layout and arranged lineup lists into a more readable format.

Article specific: removed obvious self-promotory material, including quotes and phrases almost certainly copied directly from the official website, POV and unnecessary/POV-type adjectives. Removed link to forum, as the official website (already linked) prominently displays this link. Also removed two bands from 2007 lineup that are previously stated as having pulled out.

Needed: 2006 lineup needs to be found and inserted, and 2007 lineup needs to be split into the different stages.

I can't think of anywhere likely to have third-party, non-promotional material on this subject - if anyone has or knows of any, please add it in, as the article is now looking rather bare.

Also please note that the edit referred to may come up as 6th December in timezones west of GMT, as it was done in the small hours of the morning (due to insomnia).Faerie Queene (talk) 02:36, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Damnheader.gif

Image:Damnheader.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
