Dale Martin Benkenstein (born 9 June 1974 in Salisbury - now Harare, Zimbabwe) is a South African cricketer and all-rounder.
Benkenstein attended Highbury Preparatory School and Michaelhouse in South Africa and now lives in Hillcrest.
Benkenstein is a right-handed batsman, and a right-arm off-break or right-arm medium paced bowler.
Significant teams that he has played in are Natal, South Africa Under-24s, South Africa A, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africans, Marylebone Cricket Club, Dolphins, Durham, and South Africa.
Benkenstein's ODI debut for South Africa came against England at Dhakain 1998/99. The teams were playing in the Quarter-final of the Wills International Cup.
Benkenstein was captain for KwaZulu-Natal for the SuperSport Series-Standard Bank Cup double in 1996-97 and 2001-02.
When Benkenstein joined Durham for the 2005 season, he collected the club's player of the year award during his first attempt. During this time he also filled in as skipper for the absent Mike Hussey and Paul Collingwood. He was an all-rounder and finished as the county's top run scorer with 1,183 and four centuries.
