[edit] POV

These are some examples that are not NPOV:

Alberta is well known for its warm and outgoing friendliness and frontier spirit.
Both Edmonton and Calgary have quality symphony orchestras.
Keyano College in Fort McMurray is known throughout western Canada for its quality performances and curriculum
The province's universities stand equal to and well above many other institutions of higher learning in Canada
Alberta is an important destination for tourists who love to ski and hike
Alberta boasts several world-class ski resorts

These are examples, that I don't dispute, but I think need to be cited:

Summer brings many festivals to the province. Edmonton's Fringe Festival is the world's second largest after
Edinburgh's. Edmonton also hosts some of Canada's largest Folk Festivals, Multicultural Festivals, and
Heritage Days (to name a few). Calgary is also home to Carifest, the second largest Caribbean festival in
the nation (after Caribana in Toronto).
the Stampede welcomes around 1.2 million people each year
Edmonton is Alberta's number one tourism destination
Alberta is an important destination for tourists who love to ski and hike

Yeah, this reads like an advertisment
Then edit it. It seems clear to me that tourism, culture and development agencies, from provincial departments to downtown business development commissions, are using wikipedia to advertise their wares... just be bold and trim it out. WayeMason 12:58, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bias Statement

I believe the following statement should be removed from this article: "Alberta is well known for its warm and outgoing friendliness and frontier spirit." While this is not a negative statement, it is completely biased and therefore does not belong in a proper Wikipedia article. This is especially true as there is much evidence which contradicts the afore mentioned statement. I have removed this point and believe that any further attempts to include the statement should not be allowed.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.151.70.198 (talkcontribs) 15:34, February 17, 2007
