[edit] Factual mistakes

I corrected many factual mistakes. There was not such thing as "primaries" in the internal process to pick up PRI´s presidential candidate, for example.

[edit] AS/400

I've added a fact: the system that was shut down during the 1988 election was an IBM AS/400. This is relevant because it is incredibly difficult for an AS/400 to shut down by "accident", according to people I've interviewed. It would be good to get some sources...
