Cryptogenic

Cryptogenic is derived from Greek "krypt" (hidden) and "genesis" (origin).

In biology it refers to uncertainty as to whether or not an organism is native to an area or introduced, such as Asterias amurensis to Alaska and Canada.[1]

Medical meaning: Disease of obscure or unknown origin. [2].
