[edit] Josh Hartnett

Should Josh Hartnett be put under "Notable alumni"? I understand he attended CDH, although he changed schools and didn't graduate from this school. See his biography under his article for more information on this. Marty Donakowski 22:50, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

no he should deffinitly not being a student at cdh i dont think that somebody who attended and then left and did not graduate from cdh is technically considered alumni

According to the OED, an alumnus is

" The nurseling or pupil of any school, university, or other seat of learning. Also, a graduate or former student (chiefly U.S., esp. in pl.)."

So, any former student is consider an alumnus and therefore this entry is valid, if a bit deceptive because of the common usage of 'alumni' and should perhaps be noted more clearly.128.135.86.113 17:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks, that seems reasonable. I take back my suggestion to removie Hartnett. Marty Donakowski 23:44, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alumni: James E. Thornton

James E. Thornton - probably didn't engineer a computer that could control ocean currents. Might have engineered a computer that can model or predict ocean currents. Eh? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Spottacus (talkcontribs) 23:19, 10 March 2007 (UTC).
