[edit] Queen's County
According to my family mythology, this is fact:
- Created in 1556 by Mary I of England as Queen's County, alongside King's County (Offaly) it received a substantial Plantation of English and Huguenot-decendant families.
but I've removed it until I can find a better historical basis for it.--Red King 14:48, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Your are to a large degree correct; the date is correct and the name, and Portarlington had a Huguenot community, also English were indeed planted throughout the county, perhaps the only thing to be cautious of is the use of "substantial". 18:51, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Am looking for the family of John Kennedy who migrated to Canada thence to New York state and on to Illinois. He married anne Goimal in Canada. He stated he was from Queens County. No other reference is known. How do I proceed? Thankyou for your interest. Phyllis Norman Grissom

[edit] Neighbouring counties
In the article: "this small county is the only one in Ireland not bordered by another county with a coastline" - looking at the map, I'm afraid this is not true.--Korovioff 18:22, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Are you an idiot? what map are you looking at? --Fitz41 15:11 4th February 2008 (GMT)
