[edit] Democratic socialist?

Michaelm's last edit says this party is; this clashes with the sense I had of it. (The same with Popular Democratic Party (Canada). Where is verifiable evidence that identifies itself as or would commonly be identified as democratic socialist? Samaritan 07:39, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I have removed the "social democratic" description and replaced it by "socially progressive". ALthough the new term is less precise, there is a basis for it. I have reviewed the party's website and found no mention of it being "social democratic" That description, therefore, seems to be a conclusion at which Michaelm has arrived independently, i.e, it is a personal opinion not backed up by evidence. The party calls itself "socially progressive", so I don't know why Wikipedia would call it something else. Should we write to the party and tell them that their self-characterization is incorrect? No, I don't think so. Kevintoronto 15:34, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
