Shanshi (Coriaria thymifolia) is a plant of the northern Andes with hallucinogenic and toxic berries similar to blueberries. Many mountaineers, both unexperienced and experienced, have made the mistake of eating the berries of the plant, unknowing of their intoxicating effects.
