Corby Davidson, also known as "Snake," "Cobra," "Corbin," "Corny," "Cobby," or "Cobey," is an American radio personality from Arlington, Texas that currently co-hosts The Hardline with Mike Rhyner on the Marconi award-winning sports radio station KTCK 1310 The Ticket in Dallas, Texas.[1] Davidson's show has won several Dallas Observer Awards as well for Best Sports Talk Show.[2]
Corby's primary responsibility on the show is not as a sports analyst, unless called upon, but to function more as the "yuck monkey," which is the station's term for someone whose job is to provide levity through personal stories, interviews, scripted bits, et cetera. Beginning with the October 2007 absence of co-host Greg Williams from the air, Corby increased his sports analysis to complement Mike Rhyner.
Davidson is known for his brash nature and over-the-top comments on the air, earning him the title of "the most abrasive, polarizing, over-the-top personality in dallas and kansas city radio", as well as his willingness to say anything to anyone no matter their social status. Corby has gained notoriety nationally at various times when contributing to press conferences or mass interviews where he will ask unusual questions with the purpose of disrupting whatever situation he's in.[3] Repeated encounters with Shaquille O'Neal have led to the two becoming acquaintances, to the point where O'Neal will ignore other reporters for Corby's sake, despite his general dislike of journalists and reporters.
Corby has co-hosted both KTCK shows The Rant with Gordon Keith and Dave Lane and The Teebox with Rick Arnett in the past for extended periods of time.
Davidson attended Texas Christian University (even though he professes his loyalty to the Oklahoma Sooners), has a wife named Julie, a son named Isaac.
