Constantin Abăluţă

Constantin Abăluţă (October 8, 1938 in Bucharest) is a Romanian poet, writer, and translator.
An active writer of poetry since the mid 1960s, Abăluţă has translated works by Thomas Roetke, Frank O'Hara, Wallace Stevens and Dylan Thomas into the Romanian language. He studied architecture in Bucharest, Romania and he is also a painter. Since 2007 he is the President of Romanian PEN Club center. He wrote many haiku-s beeing an expert in writting this Japanese form of poems into Romanian. Abaluta awarded many prizes of Writers Union of Romania both as poet and translator.
