[edit] Re: Dimple of the Universe

Columbia is not the "Dimple of the Universe." That is the nickname for Maury County; a sobroqiet bestowed upon the county by John Trotwood Moore. Removing the reference from the city entry is appropriate. --Spewey 04:55, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Various changes

Raphael Benjamin West is not a resident of Columbia; he is totally deceased. I moved mention of him from "Notable Residents" (which would seem to indicate people now residing in the city) to the paragraph discussing famous historical personages.

Samuel Watkins was never a resident of Columbia. He lived in the Zion community west of Columbia in unincorporated Maury County. His former home, which still stands on Old Zion Road (though greatly modified, has been annexed into Mount Pleasant. I therefore removed mention of him from the article.

Cleared up minor extraneous "the" from discussion of Daltry Calhoun and clarified that the film was made in Columbia (therefore, justifying mention in the article) and elsewhere in Maury County.

Added Cowboy Troy to notable residents, as I believe he still lives in town. If he's moved on, do remove.--Spewey 20:25, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

I have never heard of cowboy troy living here so therefore i removed because it is not any proof unb til you sj-jofnfv bx
