From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here is a bit of source material from the College Publisher contract:

The Newspaper agrees to perform or allow the following for the duration of this Agreement:

  • Use the Technology provided by CP exclusively during the Term of this Agreement for managing the online publication of their newspaper.
  • Include the Newspaper’s website URL as part of the masthead of the Newspaper’s print publication.
  • Regularly deliver eNews emails to registered subscribers of the Newspaper.
  • To place a half-page of print display advertisement each week the printed newspaper is published. Ideally, these sponsored advertisements shall drive traffic to the Newspaper’s online edition by promoting the site’s URL, as well as features and offers found on the Newspaper’s website. However, this shall depend on the precise requirements of CP’s national/regional advertising clients. The Newspaper will provide CP with tear sheets of all print promotions run by the Newspaper on behalf of CP, Y2M: Youth Media and Marketing Networks, or any assigning organization.
  • To allow CP’s placement of five (5) online advertising positions on the Newspaper’s site. CP will retain 100% of revenues generated from these positions. CP reserves the right to change the positions or sizes of these ads in order to comply with the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) Universal Ad Package.
  • To grant CP sole rights over national/regional advertising sales throughout the Newspaper’s website and on eNews emails (including all banners, buttons, links, and other formats). National advertising is defined as any campaign that would be placed by a third-party advertising agency or any campaign that appears across multiple regions of the United States.
  • To grant CP sole rights over national/regional advertising sales throughout the Newspaper’s website and on eNews emails (including all banners, buttons, links, and other formats), including keyword advertising programs such as Google and Yahoo!.
  • To include Network Channel Service and local weather service in the Newspaper’s site. To provide exclusive rights to third party audit of site traffic, page views, unique visitors or other associated metric related to online activity.
  • To grant CP the right to syndicate the Newspaper’s content to help increase traffic and awareness of the Newspaper through the distribution of digital content feeds, content syndication to third parties or through CP properties and initiatives where this Agreement does not violate or conflict with any existing agreements held by the Newspaper.
