[edit] A note on British English
British English should be used for articles on Britain related topics. Likewise, American English should be used on articles pertaining to American topics. For a clearer example, please visit this sub-section on the differences between their usage. --Siva1979Talk to me 18:24, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

- Agreed, but as a user of UK English , a football fan and a grammatical pedant, I am very aware of the conflict inherent in attributing plural pronouns and verb forms to a football (or other sports) club that is a singular entity: it does not even boast the feature of being a collective noun to mitigate the apparent error. (North American English is almost as contrary: phrases such as "St Louis [abbreviation for the plural verb, St Louis Cardinals] wins" abound.) However, while I would be comfortable with "Colchester United are", or even "Colchester United F.C. are", I think that the example to which you have attached this insistence "Colchester United Football Club are an English football team" grates somewhat. [edit] Early history
This part of the article is currently very confused. Was Col Town subsumed into Col Utd, or did they exist side by side? Needs a thorough re-write by somebody with an authoritative source to hand. Kevin McE 18:34, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Was going to say the same, the opening paragraph states that the 2 clubs groundshared for a short period, but the history section claims that United were set up "shortly after" Town ceased to exist! Grunners (talk) 18:26, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] previous kits. (archive)
Placed this kit box here till there is a decent bit of info to do a proper previous kits section on the article. Govvy (talk) 11:47, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
