Coffee Republic

Coffee Republic is a British coffee bar and deli franchise chain.

It was founded by brother and sister Bobby and Sahar Hashemi in 1995. They opened their first store in South Molton Street in Mayfair, London.

In October 2006 founder Bobby Hashemi was ousted in a shareholder revolt and the current chairman is Peter Breach.[1]

Since 2006 Coffee Republic has expanded rapidly and now operates over 100 Delis and Concessions across the UK. It also launched an International franchising operation in Bulgaria and Turkey in 2007. Coffee Republic is now also present in the UAE, Ireland, Bahrain and Oman.[2] Cofee Republic will open it's first coffeehouse in Romania on june 11, 2008 in Baneasa Shopping City.[3]
