Creating a new topic as the other one is getting too long...

Well Libsey wrote a bio for metallica, which sorta stumped me totally...have a look user:Weltanschaunng/Sandbox. It is superb, IMO. I did some rework on the the other bios, but considering the new development, i guess i have to redo them...but maybe tomorrow..i am too tired for that now... Weltanschaunng 18:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I would do it for other countries, but atleast i would try to cover the second tier bands; exodus, testament, laaz rockit, etc. before taking up germany or uk...as for your other question, in the end, everyone gets a descripion, but since there is no deadline, no need to panic. Its 12:30 am here, i must be sleeping now, everyone at my place is, for that matter. Weltanschaunng 19:00, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

And I thought it was peaceful. One more thing, the page is totally unreadable, try a lighter shade of blue. Weltanschaunng 19:33, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

this is a ton better...i myself like dark backgrounds...It also saves power...I guess you use Blackle then, huh. Weltanschaunng 19:43, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Black screens consume lesser power than white screens (if you see what i am trying to say), this is related to the working of CRT screens (dunno about plasma and lcds though). A white pixel is generated when the electrons hit the screen at that point. Generation of electrons takes energy. A black pixel simply means no electron hits that spot. Weltanschaunng 20:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
By the way, if you like dark screens, you might want to try this. Open My preferences on top of your wikipage. goto the last tab (gadgets). under 'User interface gadgets', select 'Use a black background with green text on the Monobook skin'. It would make it somewhat the way you like it. Hope it helps!
PS:try it with the page's original colour. Weltanschaunng 20:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I like the look. I, too, like dark screens. I use blackle but find it lacking at times because it has no image option which I sometimes want. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:50, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Heavy metal fashion

What do you think of this article? I think it is incredibly shitty. I put it up for deletion. If you agree (or disagree by some chance) with my reasoning cast your vote, please. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:45, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

LMAO. I just noticed the Mythbusters quote on your user page. That shit was hilarious. Although, personally, I'd play some black metal for my plants. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:54, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Requests page

Hi, just wondering why you are adding many requests to the bands requests page. Right now, there's only one person who writes requests (me), and I'm starting to wonder whether it's really worth the time to use the page at all; there are other ways to find important musicians which never hit the requests page. I'm telling you this because most of the requests you're making won't be filled for a very long time (as in years), if ever, even if the groups are genuinely notable. You're probably better off just writing the pages. Chubbles (talk) 00:19, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

The only reason it seems as if I own the page is because I'm the only one who actually edits it. I'm trying to reduce the overall number of requests by omitting the obviously useless ones and adding info for ones that might potentially be worthwhile, in hopes of making the page more useful. But if anything, I'd like to have more regular editors working on reducing the number (i.e., writing pages) rather than adding to it.
I've done some active looking about for pages that need writing, and found that working from systematic lists is more helpful than the requests page. For instance, I went through Joel Whitburn's Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits and tried to make sure there was an entry for every single one of them; there aren't, but we're a lot closer. All of the two-hit wonders and above should have articles, and all of the one-hit wonders since 1964, except one, have a page. I work from paper discographies and online databases, and check other Wikipedias for pages we don't have yet. Stuff like that. Chubbles (talk) 00:56, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

When You were away...

...some of your articles got prodded, good timing I'd say. Don't worry, I just backed up your articles (but not images) here. I emailed you about it, but since you aren't here yet, I'd suppose you never got it. Well I hope it helps! Weltanschaunng 13:50, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, ain't your email configured? Weltanschaunng 20:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

List of progressive metal artists

Hi. Why did you undo my edit there? --John (talk) 19:23, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

No, please don't add any more drop down lists. What would you say this one adds to the article? --John (talk) 19:27, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I see. I note you did not answer my question about what it adds. It seems to me not only to look awful and to give undue emphasis to a particular entry in the list, but to be an instance of original research, which we do not allow. I may well discuss this with the other user you suggested, but in the meantime would you please revert yourself, unless you are able to come up with an encyclopedic rationale for the addition. Thanks in advance, --John (talk) 19:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Iced Earth (and other stuff)

How much of them is thrash? Do they have albums which stand out as straight-thrash, or do they just mix it with their normal form of music on all (some) albums?

Also can you think of something to add to the Heathen entry in my sandbox? I couldn't find anything on them other than the lame line I found on AMG (which I used BTW). Thanks! Weltanschaunng 16:25, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Well metal observer cited them as power metal (atleast the albums listed), AMG useless as usual...metal archives are not of much use either.
As for heathen I found a link from relentless records saying that their debut sold 100,000 albums, but it was basically a copy of what their own site said.
I might get the list ready for deployment till mid-april, if everything goes smooth (and my college project doesn't deteriorate into nothingness). Weltanschaunng 07:22, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah I got your mail alright. Is it the one you normally use?
Too bad metal observer got demoted, they knew what they were doing. BTW do you happen to have access to metal literature? Kerrang, RS, etc. They are not available here, I might search them on torrents, but I would need to know the exact issue to find good cites.
The list might get ready earlier than expected, I have already covered most of the important bands, just a few countries are left. I might add them over this week, though I have some doubts on how the new format will be received by other editors. Weltanschaunng 06:51, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
OK, I beat the deadline. The work is done. Only thing left is synchronization of the original list with the one in the sandbox. I have left out stigmata intentionally though. Weltanschaunng 09:32, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
What is wiki metal? I introduced it in the list btw. Weltanschaunng 03:08, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Aw french! too bad, btw its so far so good on the list page. My friend from college added an entry to the list (apparently his first edit), but other than that no probs.Weltanschaunng 03:25, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Should we..

Should we include Bathory's initial albums into the list? I mean the ones before Hammerheart, or Blood Fire Death maybe. Thanks, Weltanschaunng 18:45, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Aren't those releases supposed to be part of the first wave of black metal? Weltanschaunng 18:16, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Death

Greetings. Could you please check out the latest edits of J Milburn at the Death page? Your help requested... Cheers, A Sniper 00:18, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Cheers for that - hope you're well, etc. A Sniper 00:32, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Vandal protection

Thanks for your efforts against the vandalism who chose to vomit on my talk page (and for the consequent warning). I like your archives. I see you got the same kind of idea as me. Have a little fun with it, lol. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:41, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, he's just vandal, and not a very smart one at that. Nice. Yeah, they're epic, lol. Yeah they have some seriosuly long titles. The only other band that I can think of that does that would be Nile, but they've only done that on a few songs, like on Annihilation of the Wicked. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Changer

Hi, i fixed the article about the Icelandic death metal band, Changer. I misunderstood, the band has only released two albums and two demo's. It is really hard to find information about the bands im writing about, like the former article Universal Tragedy, thats why they are so crappy :S Icelandic power (talk) 17:13, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

supra

I'm really sorry about that. I could see that the referencing, as you pointed out, was a bit odd and I merely inserted a supra referring to note 2 (as opposed to re-writing the whole reference, since they're the same). It is totally up to you the way you want it to read. I saw also that some of the references were there to read, whereas one had only a numerical reference and I tried to clean that up. All the best, A Sniper (talk) 04:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Jackmantas

I would be in your debt if you could help do something about this. I am besides myself in shock at the gall. Making such attacks is one thing - diminishing and insulting Chuck on his article's talk page proves the trolling, bad faith, etc. If you check his talk page, you'll see references to two Wikipedia enquiries that mention him - one is the COI made against me re: the Greif article, and the other is my complaint against his being a single-purpose account. THANKS... A Sniper (talk) 07:40, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

French Wikipedia and Rocko's Modern Life

How much of the French language do you know? If you know enough to write basic sentences you could write a stub (or more) for Rocko's Modern Life at the French Wikipedia here: fr:Rocko's Modern Life WhisperToMe (talk) 03:20, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I think the French uses "Rocko's Modern Life" so please write the article at that location :) - I think you will do fine making a stub :) - Just write a short summary of what the show is about and list the English voice actors - Then when that's done I will interwiki and link it with the others :) WhisperToMe (talk) 01:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

As for something related... have you considered starting a Rocko Wikia? WhisperToMe (talk) 02:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I asked because while there is already a Nickelodeon Wiki some series have separate projects. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:58, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello Wikifriend!

I wanted to ask you a question, since you're a fan of heavy metal. Me and another user have been having some problems on the Shadows Fall page. I'm not a fan of their music but I noticed that someone had put thrash metal as one of their genres and I immediately changed it to metalcore, as I believe that is the style of music they play. Now the other editor didn't agree with this and we had a little edit war. Well now I want to gather some consensus on it so we can resolve the issue. If you go here you may vote on what genre(s) you think Shadows Fall has played. Thanks. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Also, if you need any help with anything feel free to let me know. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Christian Alvestam

Would like to thank you for helping with the article. I figured he deserved one as he is a very notable Swede and I'm not the greatest writer, so again thanks! -- Shatterzer0 (talk) 03:28, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Indeed, have you heard the new song Scar Symmetry put up on their myspace...makes me want the album now! And I will do re: sprucing up etc. -- Shatterzer0 (talk) 04:41, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Moshcore

Might I ask why the MOSHCORE section was removed from the Metalcore page? I didn't make it up. It was cited. User:Hsxeric (talk) 11:23, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
