Talk:Church of the Lord Jesus Christ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostlic Faith is not an AFrican American church. It has never been. While the predominate group attending is African American, the belief is that ALL Nations belong to the church that started on the day of Pentacost. There has been Asains, Lations, Whites, people that are Native Americans, that attended and belonged to the church. WE have embraced and communicated with `people from all over the world.

Unfortunately race was a barrier for some. They would not embrace a minister of color. His ministry was during a time when people openly practiced segregation. Bishop Johnson has always rejected church based on color, only wanting to reach the souls of men and women headed for a hell that will burn forever and ever. Those souls would be in all colors of skin.

Am changing description to say "predominantly" instead of what it appears to say.--Thoscsii 05:24, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV

When I started this page, I moved a lot of stuff from another page here, not editing for neutrality. I may add some information that I got from the sermons and writings of Bishop Lawson, but I'm going to leave it to someone more steeped in that church to edit it from here. Please back up whatever you say with something that can be read in print, particularly sources from that period of time.--Thoscsii 20:10, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
