Chikezie Ndubuisi Eze[1] (born September 11, 1985, in Inglewood, California), more commonly referred to as Chikezie, is an American singer of Nigerian heritage and the tenth place finalist on the seventh season of the television series American Idol.

He was born in Inglewood, California to his parents Richard Eze and Chika Emerueh Eze who had emigrated from Nigeria. He has a younger brother (Obinna Eze) and an older sister (Odochi Eze). He began singing when he was 13 years old.[citation needed] He attended high school at the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies in West LA. Before auditioning for American Idol, he was a Transportation Security Administration screener and a cashier.[citation needed] He spent the 2004-2005 academic year at Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas. He also studied singing at Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California.

He previously auditioned for the show's sixth season, and made into the Hollywood Round, where he was cut before the top 40.

Chikezie successfully auditioned again for Season 7 of American Idol and made the top 24 and then the top 12. He was eliminated from American Idol on March 26, 2008, coming in tenth place. According to his AmericanIdol.com profile, his musical influences are Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, John Legend, Sam and Dave and others.[citation needed] While on American Idol he was rooming with David Archuleta.

After his elimination Chikezie made appearances on Live with Regis and Kelly, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Chikezie will be part of the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 which will tour over 50 cities from July 1, 2008 to September 13, 2008.

Chikezie is mentioned in the skit Metaphor by nerdcore rapper mc chris.
