Edit Summary
I appreciate your comments on my talk page. The majority of my edits are reversions of vandalized pages; I usually indicate this but occasionally forget. Eran of Arcadia 16:23, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- I used to forget until I set Wikipedia to remind me. Here's how: click "My Preferences" then click "Editing" then check "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" then click save and you will never forget again. --Chetblongtalk to me 16:27, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. Like I said, most of them are minor, but it is usually a good idea to leave a comment anyways. Eran of Arcadia 16:29, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Get well soon

Unusual Adoption Request
Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.
Thank you!

Adoption
Hey there! I need to be adopted! My article writing skills are horrible, my knowledge of the wikicode is somewhat limited. Because of these, I basically just sit here all day, going through Special:Newpages with TWINKLE. As much as I like doing this, I get way to annoyed when someone (the author) deletes my db tags, and constantly does it over and over again. As such, I would like to improve my article writing abilities, so that I may become a propper contributer to wikipedia. GBenemy (talk . it.wiki) 19:54, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
As a user who has edited the Rusty Nails (filmmaker) article, please read this and help me. You can continue the conversation on my talk page.
This is a place for the discussion of the article Rusty Nails (filmmaker) until the issues regarding it are resolved or the article is deleted. I am inviting any and all wikipedia users to state their opinion in this case. Here's my side of the story:
- I created the article at the request of the filmmaker. He was happy with the article. Then other users decided to vandalize the article adding faulty information. The article also attempted to reference IMDB, which itself has wrong information concerning the director. The filmmaker's request is to have the article deleted. I recommended the article for deletion and the article was deleted. Then vandals undeleted the article and added more wrong information. If anyone can assist with this issue please do. I'd like to see the article deleted permanently or written according to information supplied by the filmmaker himself. Either way it may be necessary to lock the article so it can't be altered continually as it has been. Xsxex 00:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Hey man
Hey mate! Thanks for adopting me!!! I've written on so many user pages asking for it, but not many people've replied. Anyway, thanks, I'll tell you a bit more about myself and stuff like that in a bit (about 10 or so minutes) Because I have some stuff to do at the moment. You can also find me on the wikipedia IRC (as GBenemy)... Oh, by the way, I FOUND YOUR SECRET PAGE!!!! GBenemy (talk . it.wiki) 01:01, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Your welcome! I'm signing out now so I won't be able to reply tonight but I'll reply as soon as I get on the PC tomorrow. Goodnight - Chetblongtalk to me 01:05, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- No problems mate. By the way, when you said that you're on 7am - 6pm Tue-Fri, what timezone is that? I'm located in London, but I'm sure we'll catch eachother at some point :D. Ok, Although I am not technically "new" to wikipedia (I've been a member since October '06) I am new to creating and editing articles (I'll be honest with you, I originally joined wikipedia with the sole purpose of creating articles about myself and my friends, but I don't do that anymore). Because I am so new at this, I need some help, and guidance to exactly HOW to create and/or edit good articles. The articles that I have created so far, I'm not going to lie to you, are just crap. Also, I am really wanting to learn the depths to which wikicode goes, I know the basics, but this is an area that I am really interested in. Because of the erm...state of my article writing abilities, I basically roam around the NewPages section and tag the ones that need it for csd, as such I haven't gotten into an argument over if it should remain, and only one of my tagged articles hasn't been deleted, but it was all good because I mistakenly tagged it, and apoligised to the author, so I think I'm doing an ok job so far, but I think I have to be appointed a recent change patroller or admin before I'm officially allowed to tag articles for csd, so I need to get my article writing abilities into shape :D. I have read WP:N and WP:V So I know what I must do in those areas (however citing sources is my weak point, and no matter how many times I read over these pages, I still don't get them -_-). I try and post on the talk pages for many articles, and discuss proposed changes, because I want to get involved in Wikipedia's community as much as possible. Yeah, that's pretty much me... - P.S. I'm currently working on Australian television as part of a collaboration for WikiProject Australia. GBenemy (talk . it.wiki) 01:25, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- My time zone is Central Daylight Time (or CDT) which is exactly 6 hours different from London time so if it was 6pm in London it would be 12:00pm CDT here in Arkansas. Also you don't have to be appointed to be a Recent Changes Patroller you just make yourself one. Now all you have to do is ask me, here on my talk page, what you need to know and I'll help you. --Chetblongtalk to me 19:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. Sorry for taking so long to respond. --Chetblongtalk to me 19:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, my apologies for taking so long, I kept looking on my talk page for your answer lol, it didn't really occur to me to check here until now :$:$. Umm, not much at the moment..oh, I uploaded my first image :D:D here..and I put it in this article. I am currently trying to think of something my bot could do, because I have one, and I need to get it approved, so I need to think of functions for it...So I don't need to be appointed? That's so great! I can keep on csd'ing new articles! yay! lol...umm yes, once again, thanks for adopting me mate, and if I need anything, I will be sure to ask :D GBenemy (talk • it.wiki • bot) 18:09, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
