I was thinking the same thing about the lead. Looking at other basketball players' articles, I don't think its necessary to mention his height in the lead, especially since its included in the infobox. And the part about being known for his tenacity, while I think should still be in the article, should not be in the lead...same with his birthday. Perhaps:

Gerry McNamara is a former guard for the Syracuse University men's basketball team, from 2002 to 2006. He currently plays in Euroleague and Greek league games for Panionios in Athens, Greece.

And then add all the info taken out of that (birthday, shooting&tenacity) into the early life (birthday) and then either College or College legacy (shooting/tenacity).

I'm not commanding that this is what should be done, its just my two cents. Let me know what you think. Darry2385 13:05, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

I noticed Gerry McNamara has lots of potential. I also notice it has a Template:Syracuse Orange 2002-03 NCAA champions. I am not sure if collegiate championship templates would pass at WP:TFD. However, as it exists it should be in Category:Sports_champion_navigational_boxes. I am going to put it there. I just moved some comments to the talk page. I see it is already a GA. IMO, it is on the weaker end of the GA quality spectrum. It has the bells and whistles (nav box, info box, image, etc.), but it has some work. If you get a chance I would advise at least making the changes suggested on the WP:GA.
