Cherbourg Campaign, June 1944

Lawton Collins, Commanding General, Seventh Corps, describes how the city of Cherbourg was taken. Photographed in late June or early July 1944. Note Collins' goggles, and M1911 pistol in a shoulder holster worn outside his overcoat.
