The Chelmsford Chieftains are an Ice Hockey team that played their first game against the Peterborough Titans in September 1987. They had been placed in the then "Heineken League Division Two", and successfully beat the Titans 11-4 .The first ever goal being scored by a young player called Stuart Steeves. It was his only goal that season.

Currently going through a re-building stage where there has been some big name releases but with the signing of Estonian international defencemen and a good blend of youth and experience, expectation is running high for the 2007/08 season.
