From My Memories of Eighty Years, Depew's autobiography: "I believe in the necessity of leadership, and while recognizing a higher general average in public life, regret that the world crisis through which we have passed and which is not yet completed, has produced no Washington, Lincoln, or Roosevelt. I rejoice that President Harding, under the pressure of his unequalled responsibilities, is developing the highest qualities of leadership."
He lived long enough to have witnessed the mishap of the Harding presidency. Did he write anything on the tragic end of Harding? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.56.69.98 (talk • contribs) .
[edit] Rewrite of Business Section
I rewrote the section on Depew's business career to make it read less like a list. I deleted many references to "Since [year] ..." because they lacked terminal dates. Obviously, Depew is no longer a director of any railroad. A lot of this paragraph read as if it was taken from a newspaper article from the 1900s as it had a sort of present-tense voice to it.
If we know the answer to the following questions, we can link to the relevant WP articles:

- Was the Niagara River Bridge that Depew served for the International Railway Bridge?
- Was the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railroad a subsidiary or predecessor to the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad?
- Can we find out when Depew retired from railroading? I doubt that he served as Chairman of NYC until 1928 (but it's possible)?
