i do not agree with the statement "The best house is Pearce's with their year 12 having the best all rounders" this, i can only assume, is the bias oppinion of the auther and feel it should be promptly removed.

i have changed the bottom to include the bit about charity

[edit] Defunct houses

There are definitely at least two more, because I remember just before I started at the school in 1983 two had been scrapped to reduce it to six. I think one was Thornton's, can't recall the other one..... ChrisTheDude 13:17, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] trying

i am trying to add more info but i am only a pupil at the school

who are you chris

Chewett 16:46, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm just some bloke who went to the school from 1983 to 1990, before you were born I would imagine <g> ChrisTheDude 21:33, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
....and I can't believe Messrs Williamson and Moody are still at the school - they were both teaching there when I left, and I think Mr Williamson was already there when I arrived 24 years ago! :-) ChrisTheDude 11:47, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
You should be able to gain more information from the teachers. I believe the gentleman before was correct in sating there were originally eight upper houses. I'm sure if you ask someone like Mick Moody, who I'm sure is an old boy himself, you would be able to find out what those houses were. Perhaps it would be a good idea to encourage some of them to edit themselves. KevinCarmody 20:40, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

ok i will i will see them on monday friday is a history trip Chewett 16:33, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

I definitely remember that I was in Larkins for two years in the late 1960's. The trouble is, I don't recall which senior house I was in - and I don't recognise any of the names in the article. I had a sudden thought that I could look at a photo of myself in school uniform and look at the colour of the stripes on the tie...only to find that the photo is in black & white! Darn!
The article definitely needs a decent photo from inside the sports fields over to the back of the main building. That's a beautiful view of the building. SteveBaker 00:49, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
chewett back with a new account. i have a photo from the sports field looking but i am going to have to wait another day to upload it. will post back once it is on wikipedia Chewett1 (talk) 18:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 'Chaz' slang term

There is currently some dispute over the use of the slang term 'Chaz' for the school by a new editor. This is being discussed on user talk pages currently here and here.

I have asked that the use of this slang term only be included if it can meet the terms of wikipedia policies on verifiability and citations.

[edit] WW1 and WW2

Didn't the school close during these two time frames and open up as a hospital or German POW camp or were these just exaggerated rumours circulating whilst I was a student? —— Ryan (t)(c) 16:50, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I certainly remember those stories being told back in the late 1960's - I have no idea whether they are true or not. We'd need some solid references before putting this into the article. SteveBaker (talk) 17:47, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I've done some digging around and have come up with some possible sources: CHS was converted as an 'emergency hospital' during the Great War of 1914: 1, 2 —— Ryan (t)(c) 18:18, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
