Talk:Chagrin Falls, Ohio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chagrin Falls is a village. There may be a stub of unincorporated township remaining (perhaps consisting of the Metroparks), but the village is a real entity with more significance than the township. older ≠ wiser 22:28, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pumpkin Roll?
There appears to be an article out there about a pumpkin roll that occurs in Chagrin Falls. Shouldn't that be merged into this article, seeing as how it's probably not important enough to have it's own article?Fisheromen 03:08, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bill Watterson
I believe that Bill Watterson, ( a reclusive but long time resident), has moved from Chagrin Falls to Cleveland Heights, OH. Perhaps someone who currently lives in CF could verify this.
[edit] Interesting Facts
I removed the interesting facts section about "The Park". It had little to do with the article, and was slightly POV. 71.31.151.237 21:18, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Not a Stupid Question
... but only because there are no stupid questions.
Is it pronounced like the English noun (that is, shuh-GRIN), or is it SHAG-rin, or some other variant? Though it might seem like it, that's not obvious to someone who does not live nearby. Thor Rudebeck 09:51, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- And (possibly) another: Chagrin Falls is a very evocative name, but the article doesn't say anything about its origin. Anyone around here know? Athænara ✉ 07:18, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Chagrin is indeed pronounced shuh-GRIN, and according to the Encyclopedia of Cleveland History, the village is at a waterfall on the Chagrin River, so I assume that's where the name came from. The river was originally named the Elk River, but was in turn, named after a French explorer, Sieur de Saguin. Saguin was eventually transformed into Chagrin.[1] --Confiteordeo 03:13, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
