Charles Sousa (born on September 27, 1958 in Mississauga, Ontario) is the MPP for the Ontario Liberal Party in the riding of Mississauga South.

Sousa won the riding in the 2007 provincial election, defeating incumbent Tim Peterson. Formerly a Liberal, Peterson had crossed the floor in March 2007 to join the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Analysts had expected the vote to be extremely close — however, Sousa ultimately won the riding with 46.8 per cent of the popular vote, and by a margin of just over 5,000 votes than Peterson.

Sousa is a director with the American Chamber of Commerce. He is an ambassador for Credit Valley Hospital foundation special events and past president of the Federation of Portuguese Business & Professionals. In 2003, Sousa was honoured with a Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of his outstanding achievements.

He is currently the director for business development in the RBC Commercial Financial Services sector. Previously, he was senior manager with RBC Financial Group's Government & Community Affairs.

Sousa graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1982 with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration. In 1991, he completed a fellowship at the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He earned his MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 1994.

Sousa ran against sitting Mississauga South MP Paul Szabo for the Federal Liberal nomination in 2004, but was defeated in a tightly fought campaign. He also ran for the federal Liberal nomination in Mississauga-Erindale but was defeated as well. He was also, ironically, a co-chair of future PC leader John Tory's campaign for mayor of Toronto, being part of the leadership of the group "Grits for Tory". He was made the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Government and Consumer Services on October 30th, 2007. Charles is also a member of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs, and sits on the Cabinet Committee covering Economic and Environmental Resources Policy.
