Chandler Fashion Center is a regional shopping center located in the city of Chandler, Arizona, and is the second largest mall in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The mall is owned by Westcor, a subsidiary of The Macerich Company and was opened on October 19, 2001 with more than 180 stores and five anchors including Arizona's second Nordstrom, Sears, Dillard's, Macy's and Harkins Theatres. The mall is located on Chandler Boulevard at the northwest corner of Loop 101 and Loop 202 Santan.
The mall has a mixed variety of stores including Coach, Sephora, Eddie Bauer, Pottery Barn, Abercrombie and Fitch, Forever 21, American Eagle Outfitters, L'Occitane en Provence, The Sharper Image, Rockport, comics store Atomic Chandler, and many more. Recently, mall officials have announced that a more upscale tenant mix will begin to take shape at the mall over the next few years. The mall already has several upscale stores as well as a Nordstrom department store. Sales are so good at the mall that they have increased every year since its opening. In fact, Chandler Fashion Center sales are more than $600 per square foot, which is well above the national average of $392 a square foot.[1]

[edit] Layout
Chandler Fashion Center is unique among most indoor shopping centers in its design. The mall layout is designed like the letter "A" with the food court as the focal point. All of the indoor mall shops radiate out into 3 wings from the food court. The mall features stone columns, marble floors and large skylights all incorporated in a modern, yet contemporary design. The mall is also a showcase of native Arizona scenery. Large photographic murals of the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Arizona's Sonoran Desert are displayed on walls at the ends of each wing as well as certain outdoor entrances to the mall.
Adjacent to the food court entrance of the mall is an outdoor entertainment and dining plaza called Chandler Village. Restaurants such as Kona Grill, Gardunos, BJ's, California Pizza Kitchen, Starbucks, Red Kilt Grill, Chipotle and Coldstone are located here. A popular attraction of the outdoor plaza is the Dancing Waters fountain featuring an impressive display of water, lights and music.
Surrounding the mall there are many large retail centers including Chandler Festival, Chandler Gateway, Chandler Village Center and the Boulevard Shops. They include mostly big-box retailers such as Circuit City, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target and Lowe's with the exception of the Boulevard Shops which are anchored by P.F. Chang's China Bistro and Dolce Salon.
