L'Occitane en Provence is an international retailer of body, face and home products. The company was founded in 1976 by Olivier Baussan and is based in Manosque, France. The name L’Occitane means “the woman from Occitania” – Occitania being the region we know today as Provence.

Started as a company producing only essential oil shampoos, L’Occitane now produces skin care, perfumes, bath and body products, cosmetics, men’s products, hair care, soaps, and a home collection.
