[edit] Fan sites

I see that a couple of people have been modifying the site listings, and I agree with keeping out most of the fan sites. The main forum should stay because it gives people a place to ask questions that really doesn't exist in the other sites. The "celticwomanloversfansite" should probably be removed as it appears to have no traffic and is more of a 'plug', whereas the main forum site has over 1,000 posts and is read by the artists. I'll let someone else remove it to avoid being in a content war. Snagor 17:21, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Fansites are not allowed unless they have come to play a major part in the community, and sometimes not even then. Forums are typically not allowed at all. See WP:EL "Links normally to be avoided" #10 and 11. -- Huntster T • @ • C 17:58, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

While I have visited a couple of the fan sights they are typically lacking in much biographical information. i.e. age, date of birth, marital status, etc. I can tell you this much, I have never been a fan of musicians or musical groups, but these girls have won me over with their tremendous talents and amazing beauty. If all Irish women are like these girl, I am definitely coming to Ireland to find a loving Catholic wife. These girls are simply stunning....beauty, talent, and brains. [edit] Vocalists on each track

I'd like to add which vocalist performs the songs on all three albums so if someone has a problem with that speak now or forever hold your peace. I plan to add them in alphabetical order if a song is performed by two or more singers. --77.105.60.165 04:19, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, Celtic Woman (album) is fixed up. All you have to do is drop in the names between the "small" tags. OK, I completed the Christmas album as well. Also I added the Billboard charts entries, but I couldn't find how the first album charted (maybe you know other source other than allmusic.com). One more thing, the Little Drummer Boy is credited to Chloë Agnew / Órla Fallon, however when I first heard it I didn't know who actually sang it but I could have sworn the 2 voice wasn't Chloë's. I'm still not sure. Doesn't sound like any of her other recordings. --212.200.213.73 19:31, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
A New Journey has been converted, so have at it. I will attempt to locate something for the Billboard charts, but seeing as how I'm not a fan of including music charts on Wikipedia, it won't be at the top of my priority list. As for the vocalists, eh, if that is who they said sang it, then that's who we'll credit. No big deal. There's still a lot of work to be done to bring these Celtic Woman articles up to par, but we'll get there. I separated out the DVD's and CD's in the discography section, you may want to create new pages for the DVD's (or extend the CD ones to include them). I'm not sure which way it should be, but Huntster should know :) Snagor 08:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Personally, I believe that, since they have the same release dates and similar content etc, that on the main page the CDs and DVDs should be combined, and not include the Billboard/Sales ranks. Let's leave the differentiation to the specific articles. What do you think about changing to Orla and Órlagn to Órla Fallon everywhere since that's how she's credited on the latest CD.--Zina Vukin 20:41, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I think she should definitely be credited as "Órla Fallon". This is also used on the CW website, though strangely, not on her personal site (though I imagine that is so as to not confuse visitors trying to pronounce her name, or somesuch). -- Huntster T • @ • C 22:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
As I understand it, her real name is Órlagh and her stage name is Órla because people were badly mispronouncing it. See, I'm torn as to which to use. I know that Órlagh is the correct spelling and I really prefer that, but when official media uses the "easier" spelling, I feel that should be used (not to mention, I worry about unknowing folks coming along and just changing Órlagh to Órla...not that it matters). I think definatelly go with Órla as that's how she titled her album as well. Now, there should be a note that explains the reason why the spelling is shortened, of course if we can find a proper quote. The reason why we should go with Órla is the same why Lisa went with Lisa Kelly as her 'stage spelling' instead of Laoise ní Cheallaigh. Let's face it how many of us non-Irish speaking people would know how to pronounce Laoise ní Cheallaigh? --Zina Vukin 22:03, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reorg and Rewrite

Okay, so I've taken the liberty to remake the article. Please take a look and let me know if you see any errors. What I haven't included is information about the world tours. While there needs to be some information, it doesn't need to be exhaustive (such as including detailed stop information or song listings), and I haven't found much in the way of verifiable data regarding them. I think some info like kickoff/end dates (of the entire tour, not individual city engagements) would be useful. Also some info on any particularly notable tour performances like notable special guests, opening acts, or non-traditional venues. Wl219 00:39, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I created a footer template to make it easier to navigate around the pages. Hopefuly it makes it easier for someone else also. You can click on the links in the top left of the template to adjust it as necessary with new album releases and whatever else may need to be linked to on all pages of the group. [edit] Hayley Westenra's Membership Status

Hayley Westenra has been listed as a former member of the group, but there is no source or citation to remove her from the current members. It makes sense that, since she came on board to alternate with Méav, and since Lynn Hilary has taken Méav's place, Hayley is no longer needed. But again, that is only speculation. Are there any official reports to confirm this?

I have not seen or heard any offical news of Hayley Westenas membership status on Celtic Woman,but I do know that Meav is no longer a Celtic Woman and her name should be moved to the "Former Members" list. Celticguy94 00:05, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Oh do I ever agree. We can't afford to lose Meav. Hayley is a great addition and although I have yet to see or hear Lynn it won't be the same. All I can say to those in charge....GET MEAV BACK! We've already lost Lisa Kelly to maternity leave for this spring according to their official site. What's next NO Mairead? As usual they seem messing with a good thing and it could be fatal. I hope not.
