"Catlin possesses a beautiful campus, with a layout, natural environment, and architecture rivalling many college campuses." Isn't this sentence mostly a value judgement? It seems out of place in an encyclopedia, but I am new here so I'm not sure. I would think it would be better to say "Catlin Gabel's school grounds have much in common with a typical (non-urban) college campus" or something like that. Boris B 12:58, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

They are pretty nice, but I've removed it for now. --Liface 15:09, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clint and Art -- Respect faculty sections

Any student at the Catlin Gabel Upper School will tell you their English Department is the high school's strongman. Work loads often work out into two seperate piles, each of equal weight: english homework and non-english homework. Despite the obvious potential for abuse, The English Department has earned this power through responsible and insightful teaching, not to mention having a quirky and intelligent staff, all full of stories and witticisms to inspire classes for years.

As a CG student, I would love to bring tales of all the teachers to this wiki page, but I haven't had anyone but Clint or Art as English teachers during my time at the upper school. As such, I recanted stories about them that are not only factual (except for the obvious: Clint does not, in fact, wield the power of hellfire. Often.) but also give a sense of the spirit of the English Department and the upper school student body: despite the faculty's ability to inspire awe, students deflect would-be pressure and stress as humorous stories, which their teachers (usually) take with a laugh and a word of encouragement, often even working to further these myths.

Thus, I don't see why these sections on Clint and Art should be removed. I understand the removal of "Farming Bald Lemurs" as that was part of our April Fools joke, but deleting commentary or information on the faculty strikes me as unnecessary or even destructive. If you would like to remove these sections, please defend your reasons before enacting the change.

Thank you! Garbados, CG '07
