Least there be any controversy - this is the official version of the name. Look at the two T's at the end - it is different on the map - any local knowledge to shed some light on this? (Sarah777 16:45, 6 May 2007 (UTC))
Castleplunkett is named for the Plunkett family who were the local landlords in the 18th century. The spelling with 2 T's is the local usage.Southern Ros (talk) 22:23, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
