Cascade-Fairwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 34,580 at the 2000 census.

In February 2005, the Fairwood Task Force[2] filed a Notice of Intent to Incorporation with King County, Washington, to establish a new city under the name of Fairwood. This attempt to incorporate the City of Fairwood was narrowly defeated at the election held on 9/19/2006. In that election, 48.22% of the votes were for incorporation. A swing of only 136 votes in the election would have changed the result.

The process to form the new city was restarted by the Fairwood Municipal Initiative [3] when it filed a Notice of Proposed Incorporation with King County, Washington on 4/16/2007.

Based on per capita income Cascade-Fairwood ranks 77th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.

The Cascade area, which includes much of unincorportated Benson Hill north of SE 200 St voted to Annex to the City of Renton effective March 1, 2008. This follows the planned potential annexation area decided by King County, State of Washington, and Renton. The City of Renton will be the service provider for that area.

Multiple annexations in this area to the City of Renton are ongoing and the entire area of unincorportated King County has the option of annexing the City of Renton via petition methods. The City of Renton is a full service community that provided plently of benefits over King County or the formation of a new city. Citizens can attend and observe their governance locally without having to drive into downtown Seattle.
