This article is very good and contains a lot of useful detail. However, some of the text is very POV, and could perhaps be phrased in a more neutral tone.Preacherdoc 04:48, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, then. Since the text has remained unaltered, I've gone through it and toned it down considerably, removing as much of the POV stuff as I can, whilst preserving the facts and tone of the original. Some POV remains, but I have tried not to be too ruthless.
- The section "A Sign for Our Times" has been particularly difficult. This section was more or less an advertisement. In particular, the statement "God's plan to set a Spiritual gem in the middle of the industrial heartland of Scotland" is unsupportable. This is an encyclopaedia: not a place to make such claims.
- "Britain's foremost Marian Shrine". This statement is very controversial. As one example, there would be fairly stiff competition from the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, which was restored by a Pope.
- Work still needs to be done on the article. For example, much of the factual reference comes from Canon Taylor's book. The specific references (page numbers) need to be put in, and the date and publisher of the book need to be added.
- Finally, there is some confusion about the Glass Chapel. When the shrine was constructed, a glass chapel was built. Then after the Garden Festival, another came. Are there two glass chapels? Was the first one removed to make room for the second? This needs clarification.

[edit] A Sign for Our Times
This chapter is very biassed opinion, not fact. No other religions use the Grotto, and very many Catholics., including priests, disapprove of it, regarding it's emphasis on statues as verging on idolatrous.
Please provide sources for this claim. The Diocese of Motherwell fully supports the Grotto and holds major feast day events there attended by Bishop Devine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.63.56.129 (talk) 22:37, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
