Cary Capparelli

Cary Capparelli or R. Cary Capparelli (born February 12, 1963, Chicago, Illinois) is the President of Omni Communique Inc., an international marketing and sports management company.

He is the son of Ralph C. Capparelli, an 18 term legislator in the Illinois House of Representatives.

Capparelli played collegiate ice hockey at Northeastern Illinois University winning two team scoring titles. He was named to the original Central States Collegiate Hockey League All Star team twice. He received his undergraduate degree from Drake University (BAJ) and also holds advanced degrees from Northwestern University (MSJ) and Northeastern Illinois University (MA). In 2006, Capparelli enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of London.

An accomplished race driver, he has started over 250 race events throughout Europe and North America mostly in the Formula 2000 and Formula 3 categories. He won 7 career races in the lower formulas.

As head of Omni Communique, Capparelli organized the first motorsport competitions between the former Soviet Union and the United States. He has also produced various marketing and sport programs in Canada, Mexico, several European nations and throughout the United States. In 2000, he formed the United States Formula 3 Championship in association with Volkswagen of Germany. He has worked with many entertainment celebrities and race car drivers including film star Zsa Zsa Gabor, Formula 1 driver Teddy Pilette, Mexican Indy-car pilot Adrian Fernandez, NASCAR driver, John Andretti, and Indianapolis 500 winners Tom Sneva and Danny Sullivan.

Since 2000, Capparelli has been a board member of the Illinois International Port. He also serves as Chairman of its Homeland Security Committee, the Legislative Committee and the Marketing Committee.
