Carseldine is a suburb in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane. It is surrounded by Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge to the North, Zillmere and Aspley to the South, Taigum to the East and Bridgeman Downs to the West. The suburb includes Carseldine railway station, located on the eastern side of the suburb, provides regular train services, connecting to the Brisbane central business district and Northern suburbs. Another notable aspect of Carseldine is one of the campuses of the Queensland University of Technology and because it is situated just across Beams Road from the railway station, students have the option of getting to and from there by train.

Despite Carseldine being mainly a residential suburb of Brisbane, it features one of north Brisbane's two Bunnings Warehouse stores, which became a part of the Carseldine Homemaker Centre in 2002. There are also two community shopping centres, one beside the railway station and the other on the western side of the suburb, as well as two plant nurseries, a tennis centre and the Aspley Hornets AFL Club. Also, Carseldine Central, a shopping centre which will feature a Woolworths, is currently under construction on the corner of Gympie and Beams Road in order to meet the growing demand in this suburb.
