Caren Metschuck (born September 27, 1963) is a German former swimmer and a multiple Olympic gold medalist.

Metschuck was born in Greifswald, East Germany in 1963.

With the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Metschuck won Olympic gold in the 100m butterfly. She also won gold in the 4 x 100 m freestyle relay team and the 4 x 100 m backstroke relay. Thus she became the most successful female competitor of the 1980 Summer Olympic Games.
One year later, she won the European challenge in Split over 100 m freestyle and triumphed again with the 4 x 100m freestyle medley relay and the 4 x 100 m backstroke relay team. After the world championships 1982 and the world champion title with the 4 x 100 m freestyle medley relay, she terminated her short career and became a teacher.
She also competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin.[1][2]
