This article is an anomaly. Levels in computer games are not usually listed, but - to my considerable though not complete knowledge - not because of any principle or rule as much as simple pragmaticism, because they are only incidental to the game as a whole. Conversely, Pharaoh goes to considerable lengths to focus on its historical content, and even has a considerable inbuilt database on life in ancient Egypt, with no bearing on gameplay at all. Its expansion shuns the "Citius, altius, FORTIUS" approach of just about every other expansion pack out there in favor of presenting new kinds of stuff about ancient Egypt, such as the Valley of the Kings. Historical relevance is its central distinguishing feature. In personal experience, I skipped an easier, less aggravating and altogether more pleasant mission in favor of founding Thebes because, hey, founding Thebes.

Altogether, Pharaoh's historical elements are its centerpiece rather than a detail, and this content is an important part of our coverage. The same reasoning applies to the list of monuments. --Kizor 19:23, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
