Barclay's World of Cricket agrees with the article in saying that Cambridgeshire first took part in the MKinor Counties Champtionship in 1898. However CricketArchive has Cambridgeshire fixtures from 1895 that it claims were in the MC Championship. See for example [1] JH (talk page) 18:12, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

A further search on CricketArchive suggests that they played only 2 matches in 1895, home and away against Norfolk. That would presumably have been too few for them to have been included in the Championship, but perhaps the fixtures counted as Championship matches for their opponents.
