[edit] Call ofDuty 5
According to IGN and an announcement made by Activision (fraid I can't provide a source for this) the next game is released in 2008, and Call of Duty 6, developed by Infinity Ward, will be released in 2009, so to keep up Activision's one-game-a-year policy. Should this not be changed? I will search for the right page, but I'm sure you can find it on any game website.--Hammerandclaw (talk) 15:55, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
The next Call of Duty series should be based on 1 single large map. Where you can free roam around and choose your own path of what missions you want to do in any order. however you will not be able to do certain missions until you weaken the enemy from other areas on the map.VandleNI

We need a citation for the alleged Call of Duty 4. Anyone have a source on this? SniperWolf1564 11:02, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Verification of Call of Duty 4 should be made its own article rather than this list. --Scottie_theNerd 11:08, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Addendum: Though at the time of this message, the COD4 article has been deleted twice due to lack of sources. In any case, if there is no source, we should remove the COD4 entry in this list entirely. --Scottie_theNerd 11:10, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. There is no way of telling if CoD4 actually exists, or if it is even in production...

[edit] Rank Question
Does anyone know what rank David Welsh and Bohater are? I just put Tank Crewman in for simplicity. 67.189.147.201 21:12, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Release date
Someone put that Call of Duty 5 will be released in 42345. What are they talking about? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.163.161.227 (talk) 21:01, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] From CoD 5 section
"Call of Duty series will be released in the second quarter of 2008."
2069!!! You sure you didn't mean 2006? Diego pmc (talk) 22:37, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thoughts Of What Is To Come?
There will always live a burning desire to defend your country and heritage, a time at which you will respond to the call of duty and fight in the greatest global conflict known as World War 2. Through such games as the Call of Duty Series the children of today’s time relive the fight of their fathers. Call of Duty 5 is coming back to the WWII era and for many gamers this will be a breathtaking game. Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 2 game redefined WWII games in terms of beautiful graphics and game-play. Treyarch is not too far behind, what it fell short of in Call of Duty 3 it will make up for in 5. I have high hopes for this game and I am glad that the WWII series are not over.
- Okay. Great? 69.121.179.87 (talk) 20:55, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Call of Duty 5 is Back to WWII!
I edited in a section about Call of Duty 5 being back to WWII based, instead of "Modern Warfare". It might need some expansion and clean up. Discuss here. AP Shinobi (talk) 18:19, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- 68.252.228.160 deleted the rumor (several times) without justification, however, I have to admit that it violates Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. xenocidic (talk) 19:33, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Infinity Ward confirmed it was true, along with ZiffDavis publishing and IGN. I'll look for a link. AP Shinobi (talk) 21:23, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- It was confirmed it is set in WWII. And is it to be created by designers TreyArch, who made Call of Duty 3, rather than producers of the rest of the series, Infinity Ward. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.146.4.243 (talk) 13:55, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I found a ref here: http://www.psu.com/Call-of-Duty-5-WWII-bound--a0002121-p0.php I am gonna add in that it will be in WWII, delete it if you find any proof otherwise. AP Shinobi (talk) 21:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but that is the same old speculatory reference. xenocidic (talk) 19:23, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, let's just leave it out until the game is released. also, whoever keeps editing my discussion above please stop, I keep undoing it. (Someone keeps changing what I said above to "CoD5 set into the future". It is an unregistered user.) AP Shinobi (talk) 14:08, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] CoD5 Have Its Own Page?
I think that CoD5 should gets it's own page like CoD4 has: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - AP Shinobi (talk) 22:04, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- No. It does not have enough information yet to merit an article. We are not a crystal ball.⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 02:57, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well once it comes out? AP Shinobi (talk) 17:10, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Call of Duty 5 release date
The article currently suggests CoD5 is being released in Activision's fiscal 2009, or April 2009 to April 2010. However, the article previously stated April 2008 to April 2009, which sounds much more likely because Activision has indicated they want Call of Duty to be a yearly installment franchise-hence the whole controversy over the developer of 3 and 5. I'm pretty sure the game is supposed to be released before April 2009 like the article used to say, but the dates have been changed. Why would Activision reveal their 2009-2010 lineup at a December 2007 conference? ShadowUltra (talk) 14:13, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not cyrstal ball. We cannot get the exact dates so we put an estimate. AP Shinobi (talk) 14:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I know, I was confused as to why the dates keep changing back and forth. ShadowUltra (talk) 15:38, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- People keep vandalising the article with fake info. AP Shinobi (talk) 16:09, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- But wait, in this same announcement they said Guitar Hero IV is being released in the same fiscal year. That game is being released this fall, which is before the dates listed in this article. ShadowUltra (talk) 17:49, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] PlayStation 2 ?
the article says that Call of Duty 5 will be released on PlayStation 2! But shoulnt it be PlayStation 3 or something ? I mean PlayStation 2 is little too old for games like that , isnt it ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.196.227.2 (talk) 18:10, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- They have released it will be available on some sixth generation models as wlel, like the Playstation 2 and PC. AP Shinobi (talk) 14:09, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] CoD5: Not on PSP
According to the referenced sites, CoD5 is not on the PSP, only the PS3, Wii, 360, DS, PS2, and PC. Will edit now, disputes go here. 79.64.31.89 (talk) 08:02, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Historical inaccuracies in the series
There are actually a few glitches in historical accuracy.
The most noticeable was the British campain in CoD2, with Israel featuring on the briefing map instead of Palestine. The state of Israel was created in 1948 only.
Another example is the availability of a G36C in CoD4's Chernobyl/Pripyat story arc ("15 years ago"). The G36 rifle family was only produced from 1997 onward.
