Calgary French And International School (CFIS) is a school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The school is known city wide as being trilingual. The school is French immersion and teaches most or all subjects in French. As well, the school has English and Spanish as core subjects. CFIS is known for its academic excellence and extra-curriculum. Not only does the school have a strong sense of community between elementary and junior, but being multi-cultural. Starting in the year 2007-2008 the High School program will be starting. See our website for quotes of Community Leaders opinions on CFIS. Our school also has a cafeteria with monthly meals. There is also a tri-lingual library as well as a uniform shop right in our school. The uniform consists of one of any of the following: a blue tunic, beige pants, beige skort, blue kilt, blue skort, white or blue polo shirt, vest or cardigan, red ties, and white dree shirts.

CFIS' sports teams include volleyball, basketball, badminton, floor-hockey, soccer, cross-country running, and track and field. Our senior school basketball team ranked 1st in South Calgary zones. Our junior team came second in the ISAA league. Our coaches are extremely committed to the game; we always want to win.Yes I said win , not to share their passion of the sports with other students. To achieve excellence in sports, there are written tests for various units in gym. As well as, fitness tests that include situps and pushups.

The school's debate team has been going for three years, since the year 2004. The team has won multiple provincial awards including best speaker, and best team. Many of the resolutions have been of great passion to the debaters. The debate coaches are dedicated and are committed to teaching the students to become great speakers and debaters. In 2008, the team of Rachael Bethune and Sahar Ibrahim came eighth place in all of Canada. Earlier on that year, the team of Kevin Tupper, and Isaac Zyto placed second at a three day tournament in Calgary. At that same tournament Kevin Tupper was the top speaker.

There are many small elementary clubs as well as Junior-High clubs. The Junior-high clubs include culinary arts, debate, sports teams, dance committee, student council, a newspaper club called Junior Remarque, [[Book discussion club|Book club] Dance Club and a movie club. As of February 2008, there is also a club for solving the rubix cube
The CFIS Junior High program offers various options ranging from Movie Making and Multi-media, Drama, Art, Speakers Corner, Music, and Webpage Design.
[edit] SAIT & Field Trips
Every year, at the beginning of May, the junior high students of CFIS go to for 1-2 weeks to learn about various subjects, including (but not limited to) Moviemaking, animation, 3-D design, gamemaking, culinary arts and other subjects. They leave with many memories and home-made movies, a video game, recipes, and self-designed magazines. The teachers give students a lot of freedom and they get to eat lunch in the cafeteria and walk the campus. The SAIT teachers are very passionate about teaching the students.
Every year, students go on field trips in and around the city of Calgary, some of which include a ski day in Lake Louise or Sunshine. As well, students have cultural trips to various destinations including:the grade 7 trip to Quebec, ottawa, and Montreal. The grade 9 trip to Costa Rica, and the grade 6 trip to Edmonton. The experience enables the students to speak French and Spanish in a natural environnement, as well as learning about their own and others culturals. Great memories come back from the experiences.

Spanish and French language programs are offered for parents in the evenings at school. Every year there is the Family Fun Run in memory of one of the schools teachers. The Streets of Paris Gala brings the culture of Paris to Calgary with preformers and entertainers. There are also pancake breakfasts and an annual carnival to create a sense of community. There is also international awareness with Project Zambia (donation of clothing), toys for third world countries, participation in Operation: Christmas Child, food bank donations, and shaving hair for cancer. There is a strong sense of community.
