Cairate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 35 km northwest of Milan and about 15 km south of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,570 and an area of 11.3 km².[1]
Cairate borders the following municipalities: Carnago, Cassano Magnago, Castelseprio, Fagnano Olona, Locate Varesino, Lonate Ceppino, Tradate.
