Talk:Brothers in Arms (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brothers in arms was a self titled album made in 1985, by the dire straits.
Yeah, but this article is about the main song from it, and not the album (which has another page)...
[edit] Gordan Lederer
"During the Croatian war of Independence, one of the most famous video footages of the war was Banijska ratna praskozorja (Banija war dawns) featuring the "Brothers in Arms" melody in the background. The footage was made by a famous TV journalist, Gordan Lederer, showing dawn patrol of Croatian soldiers in the morning mist. At the end of the footage, which is very melancholic and much of it is in slow motion, Gordan Lederer was shot by a Serb sniper."
Is it famous? I've never heard of the clip. And how could Gordan Lenderer make the clip with the Brothers in Arms soundtrack if he was shot filming the footage? Kransky 13:10, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

- I haven't heard of the clip either. Well, it can't be that famous, can it? Maybe in Croatia, but not worldwide. By the way, filming Croatian soldiers is like filming US-troops in Iraq or soldiers anywhere else in the world and putting a sad song over it. No matter if they are fighting for conquest, defence or independence. You never know if this is meant to be a tribute to those guys (and the reason they are fighting for) or an honest statement for peace.--80.133.229.86 16:59, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually it is very famous. It was shown on BBC and CNN and various other stations. The person who wrote it,unfortunatly made a mistake. The film indeed is filmed by Gordan Lederer, who was shot later vith a sniper. He is not shot on the end of the movie. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
