- Perhaps that considers the river at normal or average stage. The Sternwheeler Rose (dinner cruise boat), despite its small size and minor clearance does not to go under it, mostly since it would have to raise the tracks portion for it to clear most days. It would be useful if the clearance explained how it was computed. I would understand it better if it said 13 feet clearance at zero Columbia River Datum (CRD). EncMstr 17:53, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

- If you take a second look at the infobox, you'll see that "Clearance below" is listed as 70 ft, while "Vertical clearance" is listed as 13 ft. The vertical clearance is the clearance for vehicles traveling on the bridge itself and the clearance below is the height of the bridge above the river.
